Arabia in Rabbinic Literature: a study on geography and linguistic impact

Abstract:

There are a lot of terms that express the Arab Regions in ancient Hebrew literature, such as the land of the east that accrues in the Old Testament, or Arabia that accrues in rabbinic literature. This Study will try to explain such terms and try to relocate Arabia as seen by the rabbis.

This study will also try to shed light on the communication between the rabbis and the Arab people. This communication plays a remarkable impact on the linguistic aspect of their literature. This effect is crystallized in a number of Arabic expressions that were borrowed. These borrowed expressions may pinpoint the geographical location of Arabia, as mentioned in their literature.
