The Men of the Great Assembly,
Reality or Legend?

There has been a lot of talk by Rabbis about what is known as The Men of the Great Assembly. This latter group was envisaged as the people responsible for bringing of people of Israel from their Exil in Babel to Palestine, after the destruction of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar. This group took charge of various tasks, such as jotting down many Books of the Old Testament and the Oral Law transmition and others. This study endeavors to uncover who this group was, the reasons behind its formation, its exact members and their names and their well-known performance. All of these issues will be explained and elucidated through the citation of some works and running a copmparision between them.
